1. Get Money to Go Solar
The U.S. Department of Energy will give you a 30% tax credit when you install a solar energy system in your existing home or new construction. This includes both solar water
heating systems and solar electric systems. Right now, you can get $25,000 worth of solar panels installed and maintained for free, saving you 20% on your electric bill,
while locking in that rate for the next 25 years. Installing solar panels will save you an average of $140 off your monthly electric bill or $105,840 at the average rate of

2. Turn Water into Wealth
Bottled water is literally 10,000 times more expensive than tap water. Most of it is nothing more than the tap water anyway. Tap water is actually safer and more regulated than bottled water. If you drink two bottles of water per day, that's 730 bottles of water per year. If the average price of a bottle is $1.50–by switching to tap water, you could save $1,095 per year.

3. Tax Credits for Home Projects
Upgrade your insulation, windows, doors, roofing, heating and air-conditioning system or water heater, and you could qualify for a federal tax credit for 30% of the purchase
price of the product — up to a $1,500 maximum credit.
If you have an existing home, you are eligible to receive 30% off the cost of energy efficient equipment. Credits are available for systems placed in service from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010 with no cap to the credit amount. And there ARE other incentives for those who installed materials prior to January 2009.

4. CFL Bulbs – A Bright Idea:
The average household uses 70 light bulbs. If you changed them out with energy-efficient ones–compact fluorescent light blubs–you could save over $3,000 each year. CFL bulbs use about 75% less than standard incandescent bulbs and last about 15 times longer.
According to a major retailer, each energy-efficient light bulb saves $47 over its lifetime. If every American home replaced just one light bulb with a CFL bulb, we would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes for a year, save more than $600 million in annual energy costs, and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars. 5. Get a Break for Driving Green
Get tax credits by purchasing hybrid-electric, diesel, fuel cell, and plug-in electric vehicles. There are many options in considering what kind of car to drive.
Whereas keeping your old car or going with a hybrid are two options, turning your already economical hybrid into a fully electric car or choosing clean diesel are two more. You can turn your hybrid into a fully electric 100mpg vehicle by bringing it to mechanics such as Jungle Motors. Another alternative is diesel. Diesel not only burns cleaner than gasoline, it is also 20%-40% more economical, offering up to 75mpg.
